Disney India Studios is one of the country’s leading studios, bringing together a diverse range of quality entertainment across languages for movie watching audience through its various brands – Disney, UTV, Disney.Pixar, Marvel and LucasFilm. Putting together a vibrant range of filmmakers, artists, production teams to weave innovation and storytelling, these brands have created some of highly appreciated films across generations and boundaries.

The Studio has touched hearts and lives of the Indian audience through several cinematic experiences and set new benchmarks in the film industry, most recently with The Jungle Book, which is the Highest Grossing Hollywood Film of all time in India and Dangal, which is the Highest Grossing Hindi Film of all time in India. The only Studio to have this to its credit. Its rich library consists of approximately 217 movies under the various brands and has been serving over approximately 613 million patrons. 

Disney 

Combining masterful artistry and storytelling with groundbreaking technology, Disney is responsible for creating some of the most beloved and award-winning films. The brand continues to build its vibrant legacy of innovation and creativity that boasts of some timeless animated classics like Cinderella, The Lion King, Tangled and Frozen to exciting live-actions like the Pirates of the Caribbean films, The Jungle Book, and some extraordinary titles like Beauty And The Beast. 

Over the years, Disney India Studio also locally produced and distributed films like Do Dooni Chaar, which won the 58th National Award for the Best Feature Film, KhoobsuratABCD 2 and recently Dangal

Disney.Pixar 

Disney.Pixar Animation Studios with world-renowned technical, creative and production capabilities in the art of computer animation, has created some of the most successful and adored animated films of all time. The brand’s impressive roster includes landmark titles like Toy Story films, Cars series,  Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, WALL•E, Up, Brave, Inside Out and Finding Dory, which is amongst the top 10 Highest Grossing Animation Films in India. Internationally, Disney.Pixar movies have won 31 Academy Awards and over 20 Golden Globes. 

Marvel 

Marvel produces movies based on the world’s most prominent and iconic comic book empire – Marvel Entertainment – comprising of over 8,000 characters. So far 32 Marvel titles have been released in India and served over 102.16 million patrons. Three out of the Top 10 Hollywood movies in India are from Marvel brand! Locally, the most popular blockbuster film franchises are the Avengers series, the Iron Man titles, the Captain America series and the amazing Guardians of the Galaxy. In recent times, a slew of newer superheroes like Thor, Ant-Man, Winter Soldier and Doctor Strange were introduced to movie watching audience. 

LucasFilm

LucasFilm weaves together visual effects, audio post-production, cutting-edge digital animation and interactive entertainment software to create for its entertainment properties such as the legendary STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES franchises. The Indian audience got a glimpse of the sci-fi realm with titles like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with Star Wars: The Last Jedi up for release this year.  

UTV 

UTV Motion Pictures has been a dominant player in the Indian film industry and frontrunner in bringing Indian films to a global audience. UTV has a rich library including titles such as Rang De Basanti, Jodhaa Akbar, A Wednesday, Dev D, Khosla Ka Ghosla, The Namesake, Life in a Metro, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Fashion, Kaminey, No One Killed Jessica, Udaan, Delhi Belly, Paan Singh Tomar, Rowdy Rathore, Barfi!, AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ship of Theseus, Chennai Express, The Lunchbox, Shahid, Kick, Highway, 2 States, Heropanti, Haider, Baaghi and PK amongst others. 

Over the years, four films have been selected to represent India at the Academy Awards: Rang De Basanti (2006), Harishchandrachi Factory (2009), Peepli Live (2010) and Barfi! (2012). From the library, over 100 films have been showcased in over 50 festivals across 60 countries, receiving almost 450 awards in the last 12 years which also includes 37 National Awards.

Disney Media Distribution 

Disney Media Distribution (DMD) distributes more than 30,000 hours of programming in multiple languages to over 1,300 platform partners in 240 territories worldwide. DMD’s content portfolio includes feature films across our brands - Disney, Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilm, UTV among others, scripted and reality series including from ABC Studios & Freeform, live-action and animated kids content, ABC News, and specials such as the annual Academy Awards®. In India, DMD is responsible for the distribution of content across all platforms encompassing television, video-on-demand services, DTH & mobile, to bring to the Indian consumers the vast variety of international content from The Walt Disney Company.

The content spans across a wide array of movies – blockbusters, successful franchises, all-time favourites and classics - Disney’s The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mary Poppins, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Tangled;   Marvel’s The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War, Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy; Disney.Pixar’s Inside Out, Up, Wall-E, Toy Story; LucasFilm Star Wars: The Force Awakens among others.
